Getting Started with Your New WordPress® Website

Congratulations on your new WordPress installation! This guide will help you log in, secure your account, and begin customising your site.

1. Logging into WordPress

1. Go to your WordPress Admin Area.

2. Enter your username and password (from your welcome email).

3. Click Log In to access your WordPress Dashboard.

2. Updating Your Password

For security reasons, it’s important to change your password immediately:

1. In the WordPress Dashboard, go to Users > Profile.

2. Scroll down to the Account Management section.

3. Click Set New Password and enter a strong, unique password.

4. Click Update Profile to save your changes.

3. Customising Your Website

• Themes: Go to Appearance > Themes to choose or install a theme.

• Plugins: Go to Plugins > Add New to install useful features like contact forms, SEO tools, or security add-ons.

• Pages and Posts: Use Pages > Add New and Posts > Add New to begin creating content.

4. Keeping WordPress Secure

• Always keep WordPress, themes, and plugins updated.

• Use strong passwords for all user accounts.

• Consider installing a security plugin such as Wordfence or iThemes Security (now Solid Security).
